A Chicago Transit Authority bus struck an SUV and crashed on a sidewalk early Wednesday in the Englewood neighborhood on the South

A CTA bus was involved in a crash with a white vehicle about 12:30 a.m. at the intersection of 74th and Halsted.

A man was driving northbound on Halsted in a white Chevy Suburban when he attempted to turn left and was struck by the CTA bus about 12:30 a.m. at the intersection of 74th and Halsted, according to Chicago Police.

The bus then veered onto the sidewalk where it struck a tree, fire hydrant and a CTA bus shelter, police side.

Five passengers on the bus, four men and one woman, were taken to St. Bernards where they were treated and released.

The man driving the Suburban was taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn where his condition was stabilized. He was cited for failure to yield and driving without a license or insurance, police said.

CTA officials confirmed the crash but could not immediately provide any further information.
