Bullet strikes entrance door to Red Line station in West Chatham

At least one bullet struck the entrance of a CTA Red Line station Tuesday night in the West Chatham neighborhood on the South Side.

A male was chasing another male while shooting at him about 11:25 p.m. in the first block of West 79th Street while firing shots at him, Chicago Police said. No one was struck by the gunfire, but a bullet struck the entrance door of the station.

No one is in custody, police said.

Area South detectives were investigating.
