Moon Alert

After 8 a.m. Chicago time, we have the “all clear” to shop and do business. The Moon is in Libra.

Aries (March 21-April 19)

Yesterday you were enthusiastic and empowered, especially regarding family discussions, family businesses and home repairs. Today you feel similarly inclined but there’s a difference. Today you’re filled with wishful thinking and dreams.

Taurus (April 20-May 20)

You might spend time daydreaming or lost in fantasy today. That’s OK. We all need days like this now and then — sort of a mental-health day. Because your imagination is heightened, this is a powerful day for artists and writers.

Gemini (May 21-June 20)

Be careful shopping today. Note the Moon Alert above. If shopping, keep your receipts (and the box). I say this because you will be attracted to luxurious, elegant items that you might regret buying later. Moneymaking ideas might be pie-in-the-sky.

Cancer (June 21-July 22)

This is the perfect day for a heart-to-heart with someone because you feel empathetic and sensitive to the situations of others. Without much effort, you can imagine what it’s like to walk a mile in their wedgies. Naturally, this promotes mutual understanding and sympathy.

Leo (July 23-Aug. 22)

Although you feel sympathetic to the plight of others, especially those who are less fortunate, do be realistic today. If you’re dividing or sharing something or coming to terms with an inheritance or shared property, don’t give away the farm. Respect your own self interests.

Virgo (Aug. 23-Sept. 22)

This is a good day to spitball ideas with others, especially younger people or people in groups because you never know what might come up. Minds can build upon each other. You will enjoy involvement with a charitable group. Strive to do the highest good.

Libra (Sept. 23-Oct. 22)

Although someone in a position of authority might inspire you today, or you might say something that inspires them, be careful about what you agree to. Don’t volunteer for anything. Your aspirations are aroused but they might be unrealistic.

Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 21)

Discussions about philosophy, religion, metaphysics and other profound topics will intrigue you today. Likewise, you might want to make travel plans to someplace exotic and exciting. Be aware that wishful thinking is a driving force in many of your ideas today. Wishful thinking has its place, but so does reality.

Sagittarius (Nov. 22-Dec. 21)

Today you are sensitive to the suffering of others. You are motivated by a sincere desire to help. If you can help someone who is less fortunate, do so. But make sure that your decision is realistic and nothing that you will regret. Best to give things a sober, second thought. Why not sleep on it?

Capricorn (Dec. 22-Jan. 19)

A discussion with a partner or close friend will be mutually sympathetic today, which is why you will feel supported by this person and they will feel understood by you. It’s not always this easy. You can chalk it up to the spores in the air or the fact that Mercury is dancing with Neptune.

Aquarius (Jan. 20-Feb. 18)

You are very imaginative at work today, which will allow you to see solutions and entertain ideas that might usually escape you. On the other hand, you might come up ideas that are impractical and too idealistic. Good luck at striking a happy balance.

Pisces (Feb. 19-March 20)

This is a marvelous day for artists and people who are working on creative projects or working with children because your sensitivity and your imagination is aroused. You can think outside of the box. It’s a fanciful, pleasant day that promotes romance, fantasies, dreams, ideals and the arts.

If Your Birthday Is Today

Actor John Goodman (1952) shares your birthday today. You are adventurous. You have a big appetite for life. You are also straightforward and outspoken. This is a wait-and-see year — more slower paced. You need rest and rejuvenation. It’s a time of cooperation with others. Focus on business and personal relationships. Look for ways to practice kindness and be helpful to others. Be calm, cool and pleasant.
