CHAMPAIGN, Ill. — Prep forward Anthony Higgs has signed with Illinois and will join the program next season.

Higgs, 6-foot-8 and from Baltimore, led Perry Hall High to back-to-back state title in 2017 and 2018. Higgs averaged 10.5 points, eight rebounds and four blocks a game during the 2018 state semifinal and final rounds.

Coach Brad Underwood describes Higgs, a one-time Ole Miss commit, as a long, versatile and “athletic lefty who can play inside or step out and face the basket.”

Higgs joins freshmen Ayo Dosunmu, Tevian Jones, Alan Griffin, Giorgi Bezhanishvili and Samba Kane and junior Andres Feliz in Illinois’ latest recruiting class.
