A man was fatally shot Friday morning in the East Garfield Park neighborhood.

Curtis Britt, 26, was in a vehicle about 8:30 a.m. in the 200 block of North Hamlin when someone walked up to him and began firing, according to Chicago Police and the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office.

Britt was struck multiple times and taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 9:05 a.m., authorities said. His home address wasn’t immediately known.

Area North detectives were conducting a homicide investigation.
