10-year-old boy missing from Evanston Fourth of July parade found

Two Evanston police officers are accused of falsely arresting a man and using excessive force in a lawsuit filed April 21, 2021 in federal court.

A 10-year-old boy reported missing from the Fourth of July parade in north suburban Evanston was found later that afternoon.

Bryce Evans went missing in the area around the parade, according to Evanston police. He was described as a thin, 5-foot-6 black boy wearing a Boy Scout uniform.

The parade ran along Central Street from Central Park Avenue to Ashland Avenue. It started at 2 p.m.

Bryce was located later that afternoon and reunited with his family, police said.
