A man was fatally shot early Sunday in the South Side Roseland neighborhood.

Daniel Carter, 22, was arguing with someone he knew about 12:35 a.m. in the 11000 block of South State Street when someone pulled out a gun and fired shots, according to Chicago Police and the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office.

Carter was struck in his neck, chest and leg, and was taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he died hours later at 8 a.m., authorities said. He lived in the Fernwood neighborhood.

Area South detectives were conducting a homicide investigating.
