A man died Saturday afternoon nearly 11 hours after he was shot in the Princeton Park neighborhood on the Far South Side.

About 1:40 a.m., officers found 41-year-old Wesley Jackson inside a vehicle that had crashed into a median in the 200 block of West 95th Street, according to Chicago Police and the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office. He had been shot in his head.

Jackson, who lived in southwest suburban Palos Heights, was taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he was pronounced dead at 12:23 p.m., authorities said. An autopsy Monday found he died of multiple gunshot wounds and his death was ruled a homicide.

Area South detectives were investigating.
