A 65-year-old man was wounded in a drive-by shooting Tuesday morning in the South Chicago neighborhood.

About 7:20 a.m., he was standing on the sidewalk in the 8300 block of South Paxton when an older model, burgundy Toyota pulled up and a male inside opened fire, striking him three times in his left arm, according to Chicago police.

The man drove himself to Trinity Hospital, where he was treated for his wounds and a broken elbow, police said. His condition was stabilized.

Area South detectives were investigating.
