Man shot in Austin

A man was wounded Friday evening in an Austin neighborhood shooting on the West Side.

The 34-year-old was shot in the right leg at 7:54 p.m. when someone walked up to him and opened fire in a gangway in the 600 block of North Leamington, Chicago police said.

He was taken to West Suburban Medical Center in Oak Park, where his condition stabilized.
