A man was fatally wounded in a stabbing Monday night in the Back of the Yards neighborhood on the South Side, Chicago police said.

Mitchell Eiland, 61,was arguing with a male he knew about 9:15 p.m. in the 5400 block of South Aberdeen, according to police and the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office. The male then pulled out a sharp object and stabbed the man in his neck and body.

He lived in the same neighborhood where he was stabbed, authorities said.

He was taken to University of Chicago Medical Centerwhere he was pronounced dead, police said.

The male who stabbed him was taken into custody, police said. Charges were pending.
