A man was wounded in a shooting Friday night in the Lawndale neighborhood on the Southwest Side.

About 10:50 p.m., the 37-year-old was walking outside in the 3600 block of West Douglas Boulevard when someone approached him and opened fire, according to Chicago police.

The man was struck in the hip and was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where his condition stabilized, police said.
