A man was shot Monday afternoon in the Jefferson Park neighborhood on the Northwest Side.

At 1:26 p.m., the 18-year-old was in his vehicle in the 4500 block of North Central when another vehicle pulled up and someone inside fired shots that struck him multiple times in the shoulder, according to Chicago police.

He was taken to Illinois Masonic Medical Center, where his condition was stabilized, police said.

Area North detectives were investigating.
