A man was shot and seriously wounded Wednesday afternoon in the Austin neighborhood on the West Side.

Someone approached the 21-year-old about 1:40 p.m. in the 900 block of North Latrobe and shot him multiple times, according to Chicago police.

He was taken in serious condition to Stroger Hospital, police said.

Area North detectives were investigating.
