A man was wounded in a shooting early Thursday in the Austin neighborhood on the Northwest Side.

The 21-year-old was walking when someone he didn’t know shot him and ran off about 12:50 a.m. in the 5800 block of West North Avenue, according to Chicago police.

He was shot in his legs and hands and was taken to Loyola University Medical Center where his condition was stabilized, police said.

Area North detectives were investigating.
