Authorities have identified a man found shot to death Wednesday afternoon in north suburban Zion.

About 1:05 p.m., officers arrived at a house in the 1600 block of 19th Street and discovered 37-year-old Shane Colella with a gunshot wound, according to statements from Zion police and the Lake County coroner’s office.

An autopsy Thursday found Colella, who lived in Zion, died from his wound, the coroner’s office said. Toxicology testing was pending.

The homicide remained under investigation and anyone with information was asked to call Zion police at (847) 872-800.
