Man shot in Back of the Yards

A man was shot Thursday afternoon in the Back of the Yards neighborhood on the South Side.

The 18-year-old was shot in the neck at 12:25 p.m. inside a home in the 4900 block of South Seeley, according to Chicago police.

He was treated at Mount Sinai Medical Center, police said.

Police did not released additional details about the shooting, but said it may have been accidental. Area Central detectives were investigating.

“The fact remains these are really serious and deeply troubling allegations of abuse of the public trust and corruption,” Duckworth told the Chicago Sun-Times. “I think he should resign as senator.”
The event was part of Amazon’s joint partnership with the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign to create a center that would focus on the development and research of AI into a new, more intelligent form.
