Man, 19, killed in NW Indiana crash

The man was involved in a crash about 4:15 a.m. in the 2300 block of South Colfax Street, the Lake County coroner’s office said.

A 19-year-old man was killed in a crash Sunday in Lowell, Indiana.

Emergency crews were called to the 23000 block of Colfax Street about 4:15 a.m. for reports of a crash, the Lake County coroner’s office said. They found the 19-year-old and transported him to the Franciscan Health Emergency Room in Crown Point, where he was later pronounced dead.

The man lived in Lowell, the coroner’s office said. An autopsy ruled his death an accident.

Tri-Creek Emergency Medical Services declined to provide details about the crash.
