A Deerfield man was critically injured Sunday after he veered off the road and crashed into trees in north suburban Long Grove.
The 63-year-old man was driving a Toyota Sienna at a slow rate of speed eastbound on Route 22 when, for an unknown reason, he drove across the westbound lanes into a ditch and struck several trees, the Lake County sheriff’s office said in a statement.
The crash happened about 9:10 a.m. near Miranda Lane, the sheriff’s office said. The driver, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle, was taken to Condell Medical Center in Libertyville in critical condition.
Investigators were working to determine if the crash was medical-related, the sheriff’s office said.
