Man charged in connection with shooting in suburban Schaumburg

A 19-year-old man was charged Saturday in connection with a Sep. 8 shooting in a parking lot in suburban Schaumburg.

Jacob Taylor, of Hoffman Estates, faces a felony count of aggravated discharge of a firearm, Schaumburg police said.

About 11:45 a.m. Sept. 8, authorities responded to a parking lot in the 2300 block of West Bode Road in response to reports of shots fired and found a 26-year-old man who had been shot in both of his legs, police said. He was take to Lutheran General Hospital Park Ridge for treatment.

An investigation found that Taylor was involved in a dispute with the wounded man and fired shots at him, police said. Taylor was taken into custody Friday after he turned himself into detectives.

He is due in bond court Monday.
