A man died Monday after crashing his motorcycle in southwest suburban Lemont.

The man, 47, was riding about 10:20 p.m. when he lost control in the 11100 block of Old Lemont Road and crashed, Lemont police said.

A passerby saw the wreckage and notified authorities, who rushed the man to Silver Cross Hospital, according to police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office. He was pronounced dead about half an hour later.

An autopsy Monday said the man died of injuries resulting from the wreck, according to the medical examiner’s office. His death was ruled an accident.
