Chicago police are warning residents of a string of vehicle thefts reported in October in Lincoln Square on the North Side.

In each incident, the thief broke the windows of unattended vehicles and removed property from therein, according to a community alert from Chicago police.

There thefts happened:

  • Between 2 p.m and 5 p.m. Oct. 8, in the 5700 block of North Rockwell Street;
  • Between 5:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. Oct. 9, in the 2800 block of West Summerdale Avenue;
  • About 4:30 a.m. Oct. 15, in the 5300 block of North Virginia Avenue;
  • Between 9 p.m. and 10 a.m. Oct. 16 in the 2800 block of West Farragut Avenue; and
  • About 7 p.m. Oct. 16, in the 5200 block of North California Avenue.
