In another year, Matt Bach’s 8-pound, 3-ounce largemouth bass would have consideration for Fish of the Year. Not this year. But he sure caught a beauty of a personal-best largemouth on a swim jig Oct. 22 in the wind and rain in the northwest suburbs.
“I have some better pictures, but they all give up location,” he messaged.
Beside being one of the best bass anglers around Chicago fishing, Bach also caught what I think would have been the Illinois-record rock bass, except he caught it on a catch-and-release lake. Click here to read that story.
