A woman was killed and another was critically injured in a crash Tuesday in Irving Woods on the Northwest Side.
About 10:10 a.m., a 32-year-old woman behind the wheel of a blue Toyota crossed into oncoming traffic in the 4400 block of North Cumberland Avenue and struck a red Honda, Chicago police said.
She was taken to Resurrection Hospital where she was pronounced dead, police said.
An autopsy confirmed she died from multiple blunt force injuries from a motor vehicle crash, and her death was ruled an accident, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office. She lived in Jefferson Park.
The 84-year-old woman driving the Honda was taken to Lutheran General Hospital in critical condition, police said.
CPD’s Major Accidents unit is investigating.
