Resized/Sun-Times — Ice fishing began Thursday on Nielsen’s Channel.

Ice fishing began today on Nielsen’s Channel off the Fox River in Port Barrington. Nielsen’s is traditionally one of the earliest spots for ice fishing.

BTW, Hermann’s Rest-a-While, which offers parking, access, food and drink, also offers to include people on text messages about conditions.
