A 17-year-old boy was wounded in a shooting Wednesday in Homan Square on the West Side. 

He was walking on a sidewalk in the 3300 block of West Flournoy Street when a male approached him, pulled out a handgun and opened fire, Chicago police said. 

The teen was hit in the leg and taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in good condition, police said. 

Area North detectives are investigating.
