Man shot, killed in Englewood

A man was killed in a shooting Wednesday in Englewood on the South Side.

Zebulun Wright, 39, was on the sidewalk about 6:49 p.m. in the 7300 block of South Union Avenue when someone approached him and opened fire, Chicago police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office said.

Wright was hit once to the facial area and once to the thigh, officials said. He was taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he was pronounced dead. Wright lived in the same neighborhood where he was shot.

Area South detectives are conducting a homicide investigation.
