A man was hit and killed by a truck Thursday on Lake Shore Drive in Uptown on the North Side.

The 26-year-old was struck about 8:50 p.m. in the 4600 block of North Lake Shore Drive while crossing the southbound lanes near Wilson Avenue, according to Chicago police and fire officials.

He was pronounced dead on the scene, police said.

An autopsy found the man died from multiple injuries from a truck striking a pedestrian, the Cook County medical examiner’s office said. His death was ruled an accident.

The driver of the vehicle that hit him refused medical attention, officials said.

No citations have been issued, police said. CPD’s Major Accidents Unit is investigating.
