No injuries were reported after a fire damaged a three-story condo building Friday in northwest suburban Palatine.

Crews were called about 4:57 p.m. to the building in the 500 block of East Spruce Drive for reports of smoke, the Palatine fire department said. Upon arrival, authorities found smoke coming from the roof and discovered the blaze in the attic of a third-floor unit.

The fire was under control about 15 minutes later, fire said. No one was injured, and no other units were damaged. An investigation found the fire was accidental and “electrical in nature.”
