Once a card game, now a board game. Call it the latest journey in the history of the CTA.

Thanks to Chicago-based Transit Tees, which last year debuted the LOOP card game, public transportation enthusiasts can now take their game play to a whole new level with the debut of EL: The Chicago Transit Adventure!

The board game (for ages 13 and up) takes “riders” on a journey across all CTA rail lines (including the use of bus transfers) and incorporates a slew of Chicago landmarks along the way.

Each player gets to visit various destination points and “experience” citywide events such as music festivals, baseball games, a pigeon swarm and more, which delay or expedite their journeys, according to the official game description.

The board game retails for $40 and is available for order now at www.transittees.com; orders ship Nov. 25. The game will be available in-store starting Nov. 23 at Transit Tees locations in Wicker Park (1371 N. Milwaukee ) and Andersonville (5226 N. Clark).

“Chicago has one of the most iconic and beloved transit systems in the world, and our goal was to capture the adventure of riding the rails and exploring new neighborhoods. In order to win, players must use strategic route planning to make their way across the city, showing off their commuter expertise,” said Transit Tees owner/founder Tim Gillengerten via statement.
