A pair of unknown males approached the 23-year-old in an alley and went through his pockets, police said.

A man was shot during a robbery Wednesday in Austin on the West Side. 

The 23-year-old was walking down an alley about 11:58 a.m. in the 5700 block of West Erie Street when two unknown males approached him, Chicago police said. They went through the man’s pockets, took his personal property and one of them pulled out a handgun. 

After seeing the gun, the man ran through the alley and heard gunshots, police said. He was shot in the arm and taken to Mt. Sinai Hospital, where his condition was stabilized. 

No arrests have been reported. Area North detectives are investigating.
