A 78-year-old woman died Friday after she was involved in a multi-vehicle crash in west suburban Oak Brook.
About 6:50 a.m., a white Nissan was headed east on 35th Street approaching Tartan Lakes Drive when the driver, a 48-year-old Lombard man, tried to pass a BMW in a no-passing zone and collided head-on with a silver Toyota and then collide with the driver’s side of the BMW, Oak Brook police said the BMW driver reported.
The driver of the Toyota, 78-year-old Florence Hsiao of Westmont, was taken to a hospital in critical condition and later died, police said. The driver of the Nissan was also hospitalized and his condition has been stabilized.
The driver of the BMW, a 53-year-old man from Glen Ellyn, declined treatment at the scene.
