No injuries were reported after a fire broke out at a home Wednesday in Deer Park.

Firefighters responded about 8:39 a.m. to Wehrheim Road in Deer Park for reports of smoke coming out from a residence, according to the Lake Zurich Fire Department.

The homeowners fled to a safe area as soon as they discovered the smoke, the fire department said.

Crews had the fire under control within minutes of their arrival, the fire department said. The blaze appears to have started near an outlet and light on the outside of the home.

The home sustained $10,000 in damages and $400,000 in property and contents were saved, the fire department said.

The residents were able to remain in the home despite the damages, the fire department said.
