CTA Brown Line suspension: Service towards Kimball resumes after suspension between Kimball and Southport

Kimball-bound trains were not running between Kimball and Southport for an obstruction on the tracks, the CTA said.

A fire was started on a CTA train early Saturday in the Loop. — CTA Brown Line service to Kimball was suspended between Kimball and Southport Dec. 31, 2019, for an obstruction on the tracks.

CTA Brown Line trains headed to Kimball are running with residual delays following a suspension Tuesday morning between the Kimball and Southport stations.

Kimball-bound Brown Line service was suspended between Southport and Kimball about 7 a.m. Tuesday due to an obstruction on the tracks, the CTA said. Full service was resumed about 15 minutes later.

The CTA is advising Brown Line riders to plan for extra travel time as the earlier congestion clears up.
