We’d like to solve the puzzle for fans who tune into “Wheel of Fortune” next week and wonder, Where is Pat Sajak?

Vanna White will host the long-running game show beginning Monday, when the program’s two-week “Secret Santa Holiday Giveaway” promotion kicks off. The episodes were filmed in November, as Sajak recuperated following emergency surgery for a blocked intestine.

White will host a third week of “Wheel” in early January, after the show announced on Nov. 8 that a taping had been canceled due to Sajak’s illness.

“He is resting comfortably and looking forward to getting back to work,” a tweet read. “Taping resumed today as scheduled and Vanna White has stepped in as host.”

On Nov. 15, the show tweeted to its followers that Sajak, 73, had left the hospital, just days after the host updated his Twitter following himself.

“I’m happy to say that my surgery was a total success with absolutely no after effects expected,” he wrote on Nov. 12. ”But the best news is that when I came out of the operating room, I was 63 years old! #10MoreYearsOfWheel”

Sajak and White hit a major milestone – their 7,000th show – in May. Both are under contract through 2022.
