Chicago police are warning West Side residents about a string of home burglaries reported this month in the West Humboldt Park and West Garfield Park neighborhoods.

Someone has been breaking into buildings and stealing items inside, according to a community alert from Chicago police.

The incidents occurred:

  • between 8:30 a.m. Feb. 2 and 8 a.m. Feb. 4 in the 4700 block of West Chicago;
  • between 6 p.m. Feb. 3 and 6:30 a.m. Feb. 4 in the 4200 block of West Iowa;
  • between 7 and 8:45 a.m. Feb. 6 in the 900 block of North Kedvale; and
  • between 3 p.m. Feb. 7 and 8:15 p.m. Feb. 9 in the 4700 block of West Erie.

Anyone with information on the burglaries is asked to call Area North detectives at (312) 744-8263.
