A man was killed and another wounded Sunday evening in a shooting in Gage Park on the Southwest Side.

Investigators were told the two men were standing on a corner at 6:35 p.m. in the 5000 block of South Maplewood Avenue when a light-colored van pulled up and someone inside fired shots, Chicago police said.

Sebastian Morales, 18, was struck in the head and was pronounced dead at the scene at 7:14 p.m., police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office said. He was from the same neighborhood where he was shot.

The other man, 20, was shot in the groin and thigh, according to police. He was treated at Mt. Sinai Hospital.

Area Central detectives are conducting a homicide investigation.
