A water main break early Tuesday in north suburban Lincolnwood closed down a section of Touhy Avenue.

Water leaked onto the eastbound side of Touhy between Lincoln and Kostner avenues, Lincolnwood police said. That section of road was temporarily closed.

Crews were able to slow the leak and open one lane of eastbound traffic for the morning commute, police said. Crews would begin to repair the break after the morning rush hour.

Photos posted to social media showed water pooling into multiple lanes of the road.
