A 93-year-old woman died after she was struck by a vehicle in Northbrook on Monday.

Leona Kruse was hit shortly after 10 a.m. in the 2200 block of Brentwood Road in Northbrook, according to Northbrook police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office. She was pronounced dead at Glenbrook Hospital at 12:40 p.m.

Northbrook Deputy Police Chief Dan Strickland said the driver remained at the scene and no charges have been filed.

An autopsy by the medical examiner’s office found that Kruse, who lived in Northbrook, died of multiple injuries. Her death was ruled an accident.

Police said the investigation is ongoing but didn’t provide further details.
