A man was shot and killed Tuesday morning in the West Garfield Park neighborhood on the West Side.

At 10:54 a.m., 24-year-old Kelly Dejohn Bell was in the 300 block of South Kilpatrick when a light-colored SUV pulled up and two passengers jumped out, according to Chicago police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office. The pair then shot the man in the back and drove off

Bell, who lived in the Cragin neighborhood on the Northwest Side, was taken to Stroger Hospital, where he died about an hour later, authorities said.

Area North detectives are conducting a homicide investigation.
