A man was wounded in a shooting Friday in the South Side Longwood Manor neighborhood.

He was riding in a vehicle in the 300 block of West 97th Street when someone from outside shot him in the chest, Chicago police said.

The man, 27, was driven two blocks north and called for paramedics about 7 p.m., police said. He was taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where his condition stabilized.
