A man fell to his death Tuesday in the Gold Coast on the Near North Side.

The 49-year-old jumped from a 34th-Floor penthouse about 4:15 p.m. in the 200 block of East Delaware Place, Chicago police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

An autopsy found the man, who lived in Wilmette, died of blunt force injuries from the fall, the medical examiner’s office said. His death was ruled a suicide.

Area Central detectives are investigating.
