A man is dead after being shot in the head in Rosemoor on the South Side.

Dartanius McCray, 30, was sitting in his vehicle at 8:35 p.m. Saturday in the 400 block of East 103rd Street when he was shot in the back of the head and right ear, Chicago police said.

He took himself to Roseland Hospital and was then transferred to Stroger Hospital where he was pronounced dead Wednesday, police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office said.

Area South detectives are investigating.
