Armed robberies reported in Old Town Triangle, Lincoln Park

In the three cases, a man pulled out a handgun and demanded money from the cash register.

One of the robberies took place in the 1600 block of North LaSalle Drive, police said.

Police are warning residents of three armed robberies to businesses this month in Old Town Triangle and Lincoln Park on the North Side.

In each case, a man entered the businesses and started a conversation, Chicago police said. He pulled out a gun and demanded cash from the register before taking off.

The robberies happened:

  • about 1:50 a.m. May 16 in the 1600 block of North LaSalle Drive; and
  • about 11:40 p.m. May 18 in the 100 block of West Division Street;
  • early morning May 20 in the 1200 block of North Clybourn.

The suspect is described by police as 40 to 60 years old, standing between 5-foot-10 and 6-foot-1 and weighing 160 pounds.
