The first official trailer for the hugely anticipated “Downton Abbey” feature film was released Tuesday. The movie, based on the Emmy Award-winning PBS “Masterpiece” series, will be released in theaters September 20.

From the trailer, we learn the film is set in 1927, and the Abbey is about to be visited by the king and queen of England. Lady Edith and husband Bertie arrive just in time for the festivities, and even Carson is called out of retirement to help prepare the grand estate for the visit.

Most of the original cast, including Maggie Smith, Hugh Bonneville, Michelle Dockery, Laura Carmichael, Jim Carter, Joanne Froggatt, Leslie Nichol, Phyllis Logan, Penelope Wilton, Rob James-Collier and Elizabeth McGovern, will be reuniting for the next chapter in the saga of the Crawley family. The PBS “Masterpiece” series ended in 2015 after six seasons and 69 Emmy Award nominations (including 15 wins).

The screenplay is penned by series creator Julian Fellowes, and directed by Michael Engler.
