A 17-year-old boy died May 20 after a crash in south suburban Dolton.

A 17-year-old boy was killed in a crash Monday in south suburban Dolton.

Davien Gaines was driving west on 154th Street at a high speed about 11:30 p.m. when he lost control and the vehicle slammed into a tree near Sunset Drive, according to Dolton police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Gaines, who lived less than a mile away in Dolton, was pronounced dead at the scene at 12:12 a.m. Tuesday, the medical examiner’s office said.

An autopsy found he died of multiple injuries from the crash and his death was ruled an accident.
