Rain, thunderstorms predicted for every day of Memorial Day weekend

Memorial Day weekend usually signals the start of summer for Chicagoans, with backyards and balconies full of people firing up their barbecues and restocking their coolers to spend time celebrating in the sun.

...But that probably won’t be the case this year, according to the latest forecast from the National Weather Service, which is predicting rain or thunderstorms for each day of the long holiday weekend.

Here’s what each day’s forecast looks like:

Friday: Temperatures range from 72 to 60 degrees, with a 40% chance of rain during the day and a 50% chance of showers and thunderstorms at night.

Saturday: High of 76, low of 57 degrees. During the day, there will be a 60% chance of showers and a 30% chance of thunderstorms at night.

Sunday: Temperatures dip a bit, with a high of 66 and a low of 53 degrees, with a 40% chance of showers thunderstorms during the day and a slight chance for them at night.

Monday: High of 72 and low of 57 degrees. Possible showers and thunderstorms during the day and a slight chance for them at night.
