Hawks do have the highest attendance rate for NHL games and team franchise value.

With the Stanley Cup Finals under way, WalletHub released its 2019 Best Cities for Hockey Fans list and Chicago received positive recognition. 

According to the rankings, Chicago ranked as the fourth-best city out of 73 in the U.S. for hockey fans. WalletHub used 21 key indicators to determine their view of a good hockey city including ticket prices, stadium capacity and the performance level of each city’s teams. Chicago ranked as the fourth-best NHL city and 56th best city NCAA city for hockey fans. 

Chicago also has the highest attendance rate for NHL games at 107.20% — 1.4 times higher than in Raleigh, North Carolina, the city with the lowest at 76.70% — and the highest team franchise value.

Even though the Blackhawks aren’t playing in the Stanley Cup Finals, Chicago remains one of the best cities in the country for hockey fans.
