A car crashed into the popular sandwich shop Taurus Flavors on Thursday in Avalon Park on the South Side.

The restaurant “will be closed until repairs can be completed,” the company tweeted on Friday.

Officers were waved down by bystanders about 11:12 p.m. at a crash in the 8500 block of South Stony Island on Thursday, Chicago police said. It was unclear if anyone was injured because the driver had left the scene before officers showed up.

A video posted to Facebook shows two people standing outside a white Kia before cutting to a shot of a vehicle crashed into the restaurant.

A call to the company went unanswered Friday evening. Chicago police are investigating the crash.
