A man was shot during a child custody dispute Saturday in the parking lot of a Walmart in Rolling Meadows, police said.

A man was shot Saturday during an apparent custody dispute in the parking lot of a Rolling Meadows Walmart, according to police.

About 4:35 p.m., police officers responded to calls of shots fired in the store’s parking lot at 1460 Golf Road. When they arrived they found a 24-year-old man shot in the abdomen, according to at statement from Rolling Meadows police.

The man was taken to a hospital for treatment and he was expected to survive, police said.

After an investigation, officials determined the shooting occurred during a dispute involving the custody exchange of a child, police said.

No one was in custody Saturday night, police said.
